Which home printer fits you
These tips assume personal or household printing—not managed office fleets. Open any model in the shop for specs, shelf price, and driver help.
Black-and-white laser
Best for lots of text at home: schoolwork, forms, letters to mail. Often fine if you only print now and then.
Skip it if you need color photos or glossy albums.
Color inkjet (cartridges or ink tanks)
Best for color handouts, charts, and some photos. Ink tanks can save money if you print color often.
Skip it if you need very heavy daily volume without planning ink cost.
Photo or wide-format inkjet
Best for bigger prints, nicer color, or creative projects. Ink and paper matter a lot for total cost.
Skip it if you almost never print—some models need occasional use to stay happy.
